The serenity of Yellowstone Lake illuminates through the "Sun Room" windows, as guests daydream to the delicate sounds of a string quartet in the lobby. This solarium was a 1928 addition to the hotel. Lake Yellowstone Hotel was completed in 1898 and restored to its 1920s grandeur in 1990. The majestic hotel sits on the shore of Yellowstone Lake and is listed on the Register of Historic Places.

Old Faithful Inn is a spectacular log (lodgepole pine) hotel that was initially built in the wunter of 1903-1904. It is the largest log hotel in the world and possibly even the largest log building in the world. There have been several additions made over the years to this building, but this lobby is original to 1903-1904. It remains a prime example of the "Golden Age" of rustic resort architecture (Robert Reamer was the architect).
